Initiative grows more skills
The Wedge café initiative was started at the Rand Aid-run rehabilitation centre earlier this year.
Beautifully baked biscuits were on the menu of the Wedge Gardens’ café on October 7.
The Wedge café initiative was started at the Rand Aid-run rehabilitation centre earlier this year to impart vocational skills to residents in a hands-on, interactive manner.
On the day the café was overseen by Wedge Gardens therapist, Ms Karen Griessel.
Some residents of the Rand Aid care centre Thembalami were invited as special guests.
“It is great fun but also excellent training for the Wedge residents and in turn, they really enjoy serving the Thembalami residents,” said Wedge Garden’s manager Ms Adèl Grobbelaar.
