Jeppe crimebusters roll up their sleeves

JEPPESTOWN — CPF chairperson wants to revive community patrols and neighbourhood watches.

The Jeppe Community Policing Forum has urged various stakeholders to help in the fight against crime.

“We want to work with all stakeholders to strengthen the relationship and even revive community patrols and neighbourhood watches. “Also, to improve and encourage active community participation,” said Zola Dambula, chairperson of the forum.

The initiative will be driven by sector managers and crime forum executives, and Dambula said they would draft a consolidated Jeppe police and forum, sector-based plan of action.

“We would like to encourage community members to make suggestions and submissions to various sector crime forum chairpersons on the type of activities and campaigns they would like to have in their sectors. Community input is very important,” he said.

He urged the community to attend sector crime forum meetings.
