Johannesburg Regional Court sentenced brother Mbongiseni (23) and Sipho Mncube (29) to five years’ imprisonment each on 13 January.
This after they were arrested for possession of stolen property and business burglary.
The brothers were arrested on 15 January last year after a tip-off about an incident at a shop on the corner of Hunter and Raymond streets in Bellevue.
The five-year direct imprisonment is effective from the date of sentencing.
“The matter was thoroughly investigated by detective Constable Zanele Sikhosana, and the two brothers were each sentenced to five years’ imprisonment,” said Yeoville police spokesperson Captain Sifiso Mabizela.
