Greenstone Shopping Centre thanks community for donations

The Greenstone shopping Centre winter drive has come to an end.

The Greenstone Shopping Centre winter drive has come to an end.

Management from the shopping centre thanked all the customers who generously donated blankets and non-perishable foods, as well as clothing, to the centre’s annual drive.

The purpose of the drive was to raise awareness about people who need help, especially during the winter months as the cold nights can be brutal.

The initiative also brings Greenstone and surrounding communities together to achieve a common goal, namely to help those in the neighbourhood.

The items were donated to the Khanyisa Trust – a daily soup kitchen in Edenvale.

The kitchen is supported by churches as well as various corporate companies in the area.

They serve two meals a day to approximately 180 to 200 people, and also facilitate the administration of the employment service and Khanyisa’s training projects.
