Yeovillle SAPS makes 49 arrests

JOBURG – The suspects have appeared in different courts. Some have paid fines while others are out on bail and others remained in prison.

Yeoville SAPS arrested 49 suspects from September 18 to 26.

The suspects were arrested for committing crimes ranging from robbery and assault to theft.

The arrests included:

• One for armed robbery.

• One for common robbery.

• Twelve for robbery with a weapon other than a firearm.

• Fifteen for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

• Five for common assault.

• Two for driving under the influence of liquor or drugs.

• Three for shoplifting.

• One for unlawful possession of a firearm.

• One for child abuse.

• One for reckless and negligent driving.

• Four for possession of drugs.

• One for possession of hijacked motor vehicle.

• One for possession of suspected stolen property.

• One for theft.

“The suspects have appeared in different courts. Some have paid fines while others are out on bail and others remained in prison,” said Yeoville SAPS spokesperson Capt Sifiso Mabizela.
