Kengray’s Eagles soar high

KENSINGTON – Scouts from 1st Kengray’s Eagles win camping competition

Scouts from 1st Kengray’s Eagles showed off their survival skills at the North Rand District’s annual camping competition.

1st Kengray won the camping competition held at Lake Deneys Yacht Club in the Free State from September 1 to 3.

The patrol competed against nine other patrols and beat their nearest competitor by just one point to take this year’s trophy.

The patrol braves the chilly waters of the Vaal Dam in their makeshift raft.

The Scouts also had an opportunity to usher in spring with various water activities on the Vaal Dam.

They constructed a makeshift raft which, despite the choppy conditions, they bravely took out onto the water.

They also went sailing – a novel experience for land Scouts.

Indigenous trees were planted in celebration of Arbor Day.
