Meet ward 118 committee member Freddie Yende

JUMPAS - "We need the community to be active in our ward and to get involved.”

Freddie Yende is a community leader at Jumpas informal settlement and ward 118 committee member.

Yende has been living in Jumpas for four years.

“When I first came to Johannesburg, I was looking for a job. I worked for a few months but my contract ended.

“Instead of sitting and doing nothing, I started helping the people in my community,” Yende said.

He said he listens to the views of the community and holds regular public meetings with all community members.

“I communicate with our councillor when I identify challenges the residents are facing.

“We need the community to be active in our ward and to get involved,” he said.

Contact Yende on 073 720 2764.

The EXPRESS will be introducing the various members of ward committees in weeks to come.
