Residents are reminded that the re-advertisement of the proposed changes to the Linksfield Mixed Use Development were published recently.
This follows a decision by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality tribunal to hold off on the development indefinitely.
The tribunal hearing, which was held on October 4, ruled that there were “significant changes in the original township application”.
Ward 19 Clr Bill Rundle said these changes were not brought to the attention of the public.
Residents now have until November 29 to raise new objections to the development.
Some of the changes to the original development include the addition of a petrol station and a reduction in the number of residential units from 8 000 to 5 000.
The application will be open for inspection from 8am to 3.30pm daily until November 29 at City of Johannesburg’s registration counter for the Department of Development Planning.
The department is situated in room 8100 on the eighth floor of A-Block in the Metropolitan Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard, Braamfontein.
Any objections or representations with regard to the application must be submitted to both the owner agent and the registration section of the department.
Alternatively, objections can be posted to PO Box 30733, Braamfontein, 2017, or faxed to 011 339 4000.
