For many people, Christmas is a time for joy and being merry but for children it is a time for presents.

In keeping with the season, the We Care non-profit organisation in conjunction with Paporazzi organised a Christmas party for the children at We Care.

Clint Poppesquo, Philippa Poppesquo, Paporazzi vice president Roberto Giacovazzi, Adrian Shunmugam, Lauren Shunmugam, Tia Shunmugam, Krishnee Shunmugam and Gail De Freitas.

The event was hosted by the Azzurri Fun Park and party venue at the Italian Club in Bedfordview on December 7.

Mario Dicicco of Paporazzi, who was the sponsor of the event, said the organisation always tries to get involved in such initiatives.

“Paporazzi is a group of South African Italians that was started many years ago by friends and we always help wherever we can. We don’t have a lot of money but we love helping children and the elderly,” said Mario.

Yvonne Menze, Natasha Ndlovu, Karabo Matlala and Clarah Pauley at the We Care Christmas party.

Adrian Shunmugan of We Care said the day was about giving the children a few hours of fun.

“We are grateful to sponsors like Azzurri Fun Park, Paporazzi, Jennem Engineering, Huckle Brook conference centre, Nigel Sand and Nick Rosella who made this day possible for the children and we hope to make this an annual event,” said Adrian.

We care is a non-profit organisation based in Kensington that caters for boys and girls aged between nine to 17 years old who come from Bez Valley and surrounding areas.

Philippa Poppesquo, of Azzurri Fun Park, said they decided to be a part of this day to give the children the opportunity to play and enjoy themselves. “Our venue has all the fun things children enjoy and today is all about them having as much fun as they can,” said Philippa.

Carmen Mclauglin, Kathleen Sehannie, Mckayla da Fonta, Chloe Leece and Veronique Peters had a great time at the We Care Christmas party.
