KRRA looks back at 2017’s achievements
“Next year we aim to consolidate some of the incredible gains we have made and would encourage Kensingtonians of all walks of life to participate and make their voices heard."
The Kensington community had an exciting year from reviving the I Love Kensington Association and changing its name to Kensington Residents and Ratepayers Association, to bringing back the annual Rhodes Park Spring Fair and making it bigger and better.
“This year has been an extremely busy one for KRRA and we are happy with all that we have achieved this year,” said KRRA chairperson Brendon Burmester.
“We have held the council and officials accountable for their actions especially in the areas of land use, building control and general infrastructural maintenance.
“We saw increased involvement in our work from the community and we hope that this year has laid the foundation for a highly successful 2018,” said Burmester.
“Next year we aim to consolidate some of the incredible gains we have made and would encourage Kensingtonians from all walks of life to participate and make their voices heard.
“Many lessons have been learned this year and it is our hope, that with greater community involvement, we will further develop a truly representative KRRA in 2018,” he said.
He urged people to be safe over the festive season.
“On behalf of the KRRA executive committee I would like to wish you a blessed Christmas and festive season and a peaceful and successful 2018,” said Burmester.
