Get active and start running this Youth Day

“The youth need to get active and create awareness about crime.”

To celebrate Youth Day and bring the community together, Edenvale SAPS is set to host a walk against crime.

The 5km fun walk/run will start at the Edenvale Sports Grounds and go through Edenvale.

It will be held on the same day as the My Community Colour Run.

Sergeant Jacob Mashile, head of the Edenvale SAPS Social Crime Prevention Unit, said he hopes to get the youth active by hosting the event.

“The youth needs to get active and create awareness about crime,” said Mashile.

There will be no entrance fee for participants of the SAPS event.

Mashile said those participating in the SAPS fun run will meet at the parking next to Edenvale’s rugby field on June 16.

He urged community members to use the entrance on 19th Avenue.

The run will start at 10.30 am.
