An on-duty Cleveland SAPS officer was shot and killed during a robbery in Malvern earlier this evening.

Spokesperson for the station, Capt Johan Jordaan said the officer was involved in a chase with the suspects when he was shot.

“The officer was shot about three times and he died on scene,”  he said.
