SA Idols top four visit Eastgate

Young and old came in numbers to meet their idols.

Eastgate came alive on November 2 when Idols South Africa’s four finalists visited the shopping centre to meet fans from Bedfordview, Edenvale and Joburg East areas.

Thato, King B, Thando and Yanga had the opportunity to meet and sign autographs for fans.

The EXPRESS had the opportunity to speak with the idols and find out how the experience has been for them.

The season’s youngest contestant, 16-year-old Yanga, said she has been overwhelmed by the journey but has been enjoying every moment.

“I have discovered a lot about myself and also learnt how to relate with people because we are constantly engaging with different people. It has taught me to be patient. It has also taken me out of my comfort zone” said Yanga.

She said whether she wins or not, she plans to grow from the experience.

“This is a kick-start for me. If I win I will be grateful and if not it does not change a thing because I still had the same experience of the journey and plan to use it further in my music career,” explained Yanga.

The 23-year-old Thato said his Idols experience has been amazing.

“I have been trying to break into the music industry and this has allowed me that opportunity. I plan to grow from this and use this moment as a stepping stone. This opportunity can open doors for me as an artist,” said Thato.

Big personality King B said the experience and love shown by fans have been amazing.

“I have enjoyed every moment of Idols. I never thought I will make it to the top four but here I am. I’m proud to have come this far and want to grow from here,” said King B.
