Jeppe SAPS to honour police men and women
Mothibe said achieving gender equality is also an important part of what the awards aim to do.
In recognition of the efforts of the police in the fight against crime, the Cleveland Community Police Forum (CCPF) will, in conjunction with Cleveland SAPS, host the annual Station Excellent Awards on December 7.

CCPF chairman Godfrey Mothibe said the awards ceremony is aimed at encouraging SAPS members to strive for excellence in the execution of their duties on a day-to-day basis.
He said this includes arresting criminals who are engaged in serious crimes around the Cleveland police precinct and ensuring they receive lengthy prison sentences.
Mothibe said achieving gender equality is also an important part of what the awards aim to do.
“We’re also looking at balancing the number of male and female officers from the lower ranks of constable, sergeant and warrant officer to the higher ranks of captain, lieutenant colonel and colonel,” said Mothibe.
“The awardees will be divided into support staff as well as SAPS and detective members.”
