Late Farouk Jogiat’s wife continues with his good work

BCPF chairperson Gavin Henry said Farouk had a passion for giving to the Bedfordview community.

Farouk Jogiat from the Gift of the Givers Foundation in Bedfordview died earlier this year.

In his memory, his wife, Fawzia Jogiat, is carrying on his community projects in his memory.

Mohammed Yehia Dicko, project coordinator for Gift of the Givers, said the foundation, along with Bedfordview SAPS and Bedfordview Community Policing Forum (BCPF) volunteers, brought some Christmas cheer to those in need on December 4.

“One hundred and thirty-five food parcels were donated to give some relief and happiness to families,” said Mohammed.

He said the donations were organised by Fawzia.

“We at Gift of the Givers and his wife are keeping his memory alive in the spirit of giving, which was his main goal in life,” said Mohammed.

Dicko said he worked closely with Bedfordview Police Station and the community.

“Thank you to communications officer Capt André de Jager, BCPF operations manager Tyrone Clark and Moulana Suhayl Bhamjee, principal of Bedfordview Madressa, for their assistance,” said Mohammed.
