Jeppe Girls’ 6th Midmar Mile

All of the girls who had swum the race before improved on their previous times.

Jeppe Girls attended the sixth Midmar Mile open water swim in KwaZulu-Natal on February 9.

The team has grown from eight to 21 swimmers.

Two Old Jeppe Girls, Sydney McDougall and Flavia Palmeiro, a younger sister, Elaine van Aardt, and a parent, Linda Baigent, swam with the team.

All of the girls who had swum the race before improved on their previous times.

First in for Jeppe Girls was Kristin van Aardt in a time of 27:29, second was Caitlynn Switala in 28:43 and third was Megan Briggs in 29:40.

“Congratulations to our first-time swimmers in the race, Caitlin de Beer, Emily Roelofsz, Victoria Baigent and Jessica Lazarou, who swam in times of 31:01, 31:04, 31:34 and 32:31 respectively,” said Jeppe Girls public relations officer Carole Heming.
