On the afternoon of February 25, three men, armed with 9mm pistols, entered the business and demanded money.
Edenvale SAPS spokesperson Sgt Jacob Mashile said the staff informed the robbers that there was not a lot of money on the premises.

“After hearing this the men locked three staff members in a back room and searched the store,” said Mashile.
“Before the staff were locked up one male worker was assaulted with the butt of a pistol.”
Police are investigating what led to the assault.
Mashile said the men, aged between 25 and 30 years, made off with an undisclosed amount of money in addition to a customer’s wallet and cellphone.
“After the robbery, they fled on foot towards Van Riebeeck Mall.”
A case of business robbery and assault is being investigated by Edenvale SAPS.
“No shots were fired during the robbery.”
Mashile advised the community to exercise caution and not to approach these men as they are believed to be armed.
