Edenvale canoeist conquers the Dusi
Tandy finished the three-day race as the 146th Single Kayak, and as the 16th veteran finisher, in a time of 12 hours and nine minutes.
Edenvale resident Richard Tandy completed his 10th Dusi Canoe Marathon in the annual canoeing event.
The marathon was held over February 14 and 16 and saw participants travel almost 120km from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

Tandy started his rowing career after seconding Boksburg canoeists Bob Harvey 10 years ago.
Jennie Dallas public relations officer for Gauteng Canoe Union said because of the recent rains the rapids increased in size.
Tandy finished the three-day race as the 146th Single Kayak, and as the 16th veteran finisher, in a time of 12 hours and nine minutes.
Harvey and canoeing partner Leon Maritz finished the marathon in a K2 (double kayak) in a time of 17 hours 17 minutes.
They were the 231st double kayak across the line and placed 41st in the masters’ age category.
The three members of Ekurhuleni Kayak Club were each awarded a badge for completing their 10th Dusi.
