Avalon in need of assistance

Residents who are able to donate pre-loved goods to the store are encouraged to do so.

The Avalon Association, a home for people with disabilities based in Kensington, is appealing for assistance from the community.

As part of its fund-raising initiatives, Avalon runs the Hop-A-Long Charity Shop.

Donations of clothes, books, appliances, cutlery, crockery and furniture are needed for resale in the store.

Residents who are able to donate pre-loved goods to the store are encouraged to do so.

Alternatively, fund-raising evenings for Avalon are planned for May 28, June 25 and July 23 at John Dory’s in Bedfordview.

An additional evening for fund-raising will be held at Cherokee Spur on September 10.

At these evenings a percentage of each meal bought will be donated to Avalon.

Restaurant nights will take place from 6pm to 8.30pm.
