ABC Ladies Club celebrates 2019 with Christmas breakfast

Opera singer Christiaan Snyman was a guest and showcased his talent, singing Christmas carols and other favourites.

Members of the ABC Ladies Club in Bedfordview recently met for a Christmas celebratory breakfast at the Mercure Hotel in Bedfordview.

This was the first year the club sang Silent Night together in both English and German at the Christmas breakfast.

ABC Ladies Club public relations officer Milanie Reynolds, ABC Ladies Club founder Anneliese Plettenbacher and Melanie van Wyk from Little Eden.

Christiaan sang without a microphone, where his voice resonated throughout the hotel restaurant area.

Mercure Hotel placed gifts on the tables as a gesture of goodwill to the club who stepped up as community activists for the past two decades.

The club also honoured different charity initiatives through handovers at the breakfast.

Funds were raised for the Help The Child Fund and Little Eden and were handed out to Elizabeth de Beer, from Help The Child Fund, and Melanie van Wyk from Little Eden.

The morning also included cracker-pulling, chatting, networking and singing.

“I believe 2020 is a year we can look forward to. We have stood together for 21 years and I look forward to many more,” said ABC club founder Anneliese Plettenbacher.

The next meeting will feature Nita Fourie, with a talk and demonstration on lavender, held on February 20.
