Laughter, smiles and hope at recent Shavathon

The longest ponytail they received was about 45cm.

The 2020 Shavathon at Greenstone Shopping Centre was a day filled with laughter, smiles and hope on February 29.

Divashnee Pillay, a Cansa Shavathon coordinator, said she wants to take part in the campaign for years to come.

“We were over the moon with the support that we have received from the community, the stories of survivors that were told instantly brought tears to our eyes and the donations as well as support from this spectacular community was enormously appreciated.”

The coordinator added that they had ladies who wanted to donate their hair instantly.

The longest ponytail they received was about 45cm.

“Not forgetting our elegant gentlemen that so enthusiastically wanted to shave their hair.

“We appreciate every single one of you,” said Divashnee.

“With the help of our very energetic volunteers and shopping centre, we were pleased to have raised over R14 000. “Greenstone was filled with colour and people who wanted to make a difference.”
