GDE investigates after boy (17) is stabbed by fellow learner, later dies in hospital

"Schools are closed now but we are investigating the case," said Mabona.

Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson Steve Mabona said the department is investigating the stabbing of a 17-year-old learner yesterday at a school in Elandsfontein in Bedfordview police precinct.

“Schools are closed now but we are investigating the case,” said Mabona.

The NEWS reported earlier today that police arrested a 17-year-old boy on March 17 after he allegedly stabbed a fellow learner also aged 17 in Bedfordview police precinct. The child later died at hospital.

Gauteng SAPS spokesperson, Captain Kay Makhubele said the two school learners reportedly had an argument after school when the incident occurred.
