Learners from Sacred Heart compete in OR Tambo Soncini Social Cohesion Games

Sacred Heart u-15 learners took part in the OR Tambo Soncini Social Cohesion Games at Old Parks Sports Club on September 11 Grade Eight girls Shamiso Makombe, Thabisile Tshuma, Furaha Cecile Lufungula and Grade Seven learner Halelluya Getahun made the girls' team.

Grade Eight girls Shamiso Makombe, Thabisile Tshuma, Furaha Cecile Lufungula and Grade Seven learner Halelluya Getahun made the girls’ team.

Grade Nine learner Zenzo Madlala was selected for the boys’ team.

The games are held on a four-year cycle.

The selected players will form part of Team Johannesburg.

The team will compete against teams from other Gauteng regions on October 7, where team Gauteng will be selected.

Once a team is selected, it travels to Italy to represent Gauteng and SA.

The school also congratulated Khanyisile Maphisa for recently making it to the u-17 South African National basketball team.
