Panthers invite community to join its family
“With the return of the Tendella Golden Oldies, the Panthers are moving into the second league as the club has the sufficient number of teams,” highlighted Enslin.
As Edenvale Panthers Rugby Club prepares for its next season, chairperson and coach Ernie Enslin has invited community members to join the club.
The invitation to the community was prompted as the club hopes to grow its ranks and start a u-20 team and a youth club.
The youth club will cater for players between the ages of six and 18 years old.
Besides inviting the community, the club has welcomed the return of the Tendella Golden Oldies to the Edenvale Sports Grounds.

“With the return of the Tendella Golden Oldies, the Panthers are moving into the second league as the club has the sufficient number of teams,” highlighted Enslin.
He explained that the Panthers hope to create a long-lasting rugby community in Edenvale.
“Rugby teaches discipline and youth rugby prepares children for life,” said Enslin.
“By playing the sport, children can create long-lasting bonds.”
He said creating a youth club will hopefully feed the senior teams with players.
In addition to inviting those interested in playing the sport, Enslin said the club is also hoping to attract people who can assist with coaching and running the club.
Although Covid-19 restrictions meant the club has not played a Valke Rugby Union game since June, Enslin said the Panthers plan to host two friendly games on October 9 and 16 at Edenvale Sports Grounds.
