Set to be held in Eastleigh on October 29 at 41A High Road, the event hopes to bring the community together.
Organised by Fatima Santo, the free event will focus on showing community members what material is used and how certain artistic techniques can be done.
She said demos of the various techniques will be on display.
Fatima, who runs a creative studio from her home and provides workshops, said this event will be for the community.
Through the event, she hopes to stimulate mental well-being and creativity in the community.
Fatima said this was something close to her heart.
“My brother, who lives in America, has Alzheimer’s and I want to work with Alzheimer’s patients and older people that need stimulation.”

Fatima, who started her career as a wedding coordinator 16 years ago, said she would supply leftover products to retirement homes in the area and work with them.

Although she took a step back from the amount of work she did due to health complications, Fatima is hoping to start inspiring others’ creativity once more.
“When you go through a stage of being in ICU it scares you. You realise life is short and then you start appreciating what you have,” said Fatima.
She said at the homes numerous people need help.
“You realise how lucky you are to survive and that’s what triggered me to start helping. My childre encouraged me to keep doing what makes me happy,” said Fatima.
She works with Hidden Treasures in Gauteng and the Western Cape. She also does talks at Solheim Retirement Home.
In February next year, Fatima hopes to start assisting at local old age homes where she can teach others artistic techniques.
She said in the new year she also hopes to invite residents of retirement homes to monthly classes at her property.

Children who tag along with their parents or grandparents can look forward to the use of a putting course on the property.
Fatima highlighted that on the day the property’s gate will be locked and only those who RSVP will be granted entry.
The event will start at 13:00 and end at 16:00.
