Speeding motorist arrested for reckless driving in Edenvale
A motorist was arrested after being caught driving well above the speed limit during a police operation on Andries Pretorius Avenue. The driver faces charges of reckless and negligent driving in court.
A motorist was arrested for reckless and negligent driving after being caught speeding in Edenvale on July 9.
According to the EMPD, the High-Speed Unit was doing an operation on Andries Pretorius Avenue, where the posted speed limit is 60km/h.
They stopped a red VW Polo after speed enforcement equipment recorded it travelling at 110km/h.

The driver was taken into custody and detained at the Edenvale Police Station.
He will soon appear in the Edenvale Magistrate’s Court on charges related to reckless and negligent driving.
The EMPD emphasised the importance of road safety and called on motorists to obey the speed limits.
