Several vehicles, including a white BMW sedan, a blue Volvo hatchback, two white Isuzu LDVs, a white BMW motorbike, a black Chery, and a white Mercedes-Benz, were clocked at dangerously high speeds. One driver was caught travelling at a staggering 210km/h.

The motorists gave various excuses for their speed, including being late for work, but officers rejected these explanations as unacceptable under the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1996.

All seven drivers were arrested on the spot and detained at Brakpan and Bedfordview police stations.
