One suspect arrested after Dowerglen business burglary and shootout

A quick response from Edenvale SAPS and local security companies foiled a business burglary in Dowerglen on November 10, leading to the arrest of one suspect after a shootout and attempted escape.

Edenvale SAPS and several local security companies responded to a business burglary on the evening of November 10.

The burglary is believed to have occurred at a business located along Linksfield Road between the N3 South off-ramp and Milford Avenue in Dowerglen.

According to Edenvale SAPS, five suspects gained entry into the store by breaking its glass door.

Gauteng Emergency Medical Services, Edenvale SAPS, and security personnel on scene.

Upon doing so, security personnel responded, and a shootout ensued.

Police confirmed nobody was injured during the shootout; however, one suspect was injured when he attempted to flee by jumping over a balcony.

The injured suspect was arrested while the remaining four fled the area. He was transported to a medical facility.
The valuables taken from the store were recovered.
