The City of Ekurhuleni has issued a public notice regarding a planned Rand Water maintenance operation that will impact water supply across several parts of the metro.

The maintenance is expected to be carried out between 05:00 July 15 and 07:00 July 18.

The City cautioned that full restoration of water services may take up to eight days following the conclusion of the maintenance period.

Areas situated at higher elevations and those dependent on pump-fed systems will take longer to recover.

Residents in the affected zones are urged to plan accordingly by storing water in advance to reduce inconvenience during the outage period.

To support residents during the disruption, the city will deploy water tankers to affected communities.
