Ekurhuleni leaders commend ERWAT for wastewater management efforts
The City of Ekurhuleni has recognised ERWAT for its role in wastewater management and ongoing efforts to support sanitation services across the metro.
The City of Ekurhuleni has recognised the work of Ekurhuleni Water Care Company (ERWAT) for its contribution to wastewater management and sanitation services in the metro.
Executive Mayor Ald Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, MMC for Metro Trading Utilities Clr Jean Sthato and MMC for Metro Operations and Maintenance Ald Nomadlozi Nkosi recently acknowledged the entity’s work in helping maintain wastewater treatment and water care services.

According to a statement released by the City, ERWAT plays a key role in wastewater treatment and environmental management, which supports sanitation infrastructure used by communities and businesses across Ekurhuleni.
The recognition also aligns with the municipality’s ongoing focus on water preservation and infrastructure management through its “Every Drop Counts” campaign.
The City said it remains committed to supporting departments and entities involved in maintaining essential services and promoting responsible water management practices.
