Illegally erected billboard at Gillooly's Farm is dismantled by the City of Ekurhuleni

By May 11, the City of Ekurhuleni Development Planning and Real Estate Department continued with demolition operations at the illegal billboard at Gillooly’s Farm.

The intervention forms part of the department’s ongoing efforts to enforce compliance and remove unlawful structures.

Work to dismantle the illegal billboard at Gillooly’s Farm already underway.

The dispute over the billboard dates back to 2014.

Executive Mayor of the City of Ekurhuleni, Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, with relevant stakeholders, including MMCs and ward councillors, during operations at Gillooly’s Farm.

On May 9, Ward 20 Clr Jill Humphreys said demolition work had already started.
The Saturday parkrun at Gillooly’s Farm was also cancelled on the day due to the operations.
