Sebenza CPF gets new leadership
The exco looks forward to working with community members and law enforcement to create a safer community.
The Sebenza Police Station announced the appointment of a new CPF executive committee.
Elected on September 20, the committee will lead community engagement and collaboration efforts.
The elections were held at the CPF’s recent AGM at the Thornhill Estate.
The attendees included resident SAPS members and the Sebenza SAPS’ new station commander, Lieutenant Colonel Mazibuko, the head of Vispol, Captain Khambule, and Ward 17 Clr Simon Lapping.

Representatives from the MEC for Community Safety’s office, Sonnyboy Mmati and Khehla Khambula, also attended.
Longstanding community member and advocate for crime prevention, Devan Naicker, was elected the CPF’s new chairperson.
With a wealth of experience in community policing, Naicker is committed to working closely with local law enforcement to enhance safety and security in the Sebenza precinct.
The policing precinct includes Modderfontein, Kempton Park West, Chloorkop Industrial, Esther Park, Cresslawn, Sebenza and Croydon.

The rest of the executive committee includes Christie Mann (deputy chairperson), Renee Mott (treasurer), Charmaine Snow (secretary), Kristin Wiggins (PRO) and members from the four sectors.
“I am honoured to serve as the CPF chairperson for the next five years. Our team looks forward to working with residents, businesses and law enforcement to create a safer, more united community,” said Naicker.
His leadership and dedication to community welfare should strengthen these collaborative efforts and build a stronger relationship between law enforcement, residents, businesses and other stakeholders.
Plans are in motion to recruit and train community patrollers, establish business and security forums and relaunch the GBV and Youth desks.

The CPFs are crucial in fostering communication and co-operation between the SAPS and the community while working together to address crime-related challenges and promote safety initiatives.
