Elections to appoint new committee for Bedfordview CPF coming in May

New BCPF structure says they are eager to engage with the community and work towards creating a safer environment for all.

The Bedfordview CPF is gearing up for its upcoming elections, following the resignation of the former executive committee (Exco) structure on January 31.

District CPF representative, Dr Mikail Reza Patel, will be conducting the elections and AGM by the constitution for CPF structures.

The primary objective of these elections is to elect new Sector Sub-forum committees for the BCPF Sectors 1, 2 and 3.

They are inviting the community to attend the meeting and participate in the election process by voting for representatives within their respective sectors.

These representatives will work closely with the other two sectors and the Bedfordview SAPS to combat crime in the area.

To be eligible for participation, interested individuals must be a South African citizen, reside or work in Bedfordview and have no criminal record.

For Sector 3, the community is invited to a public engagement meeting on May 8 at 18:30 at the Sizwe High School hall.

Residents from Elandsfontein, Klopperpark, Tunney, Mabondeni informal settlement, Harmelia Extension, Meadowdale, Meadowbrook and Rustivia are encouraged to attend.

For Sector 1, the meeting will take place on May 12 at 18:30 at Cornerstone Church in Morninghill, Benard Road East.

It covers Oriel, Morninghill, Essexwold, St Andrews and Senderwood.

Sector 2 covers Wilbart and the Bedfordview CBD.

The public engagement will take place on May 22 at 18:30 and the venue is the Bedfordview Scouts hall.

In the meantime, an interim CPF structure was elected, chaired by Collin McKenzie, deputy chairperson Khalid Osman, secretary Jaques Steyn and deputy secretary Ntandu Lupalule.

Treasurer is Jeremy Jeffrey and the PRO is James Chang.

The new structure is eager to engage with the community and work towards creating a safer environment for all.
