Harambee BRT services suspended in Ekurhuleni over contract dispute

Ekurhuleni commuters are facing disruptions as the Harambee BRT system is temporarily suspended due to a contractual dispute with the operator. The city is working to resolve the issue and assures passengers that affected tickets will remain valid.

The City of Ekurhuleni has temporarily suspended its Harambee Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) services due to a contractual dispute with the BRT operator.

The suspension affects bus operations, station services, and ticket sales.

The city is currently in discussions with the operator to resolve the dispute as quickly as possible to allow services to resume.

“We are actively working to restore the bus services and will keep commuters informed as soon as operations resume,” said City spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

The city has assured commuters that ticket validity will be extended for any days affected by the suspension.

Commuters are advised to make alternative transport arrangements in the meantime.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the current service interruptions. Commuters’ travel plans are important to us, and we appreciate their understanding during this time,” added Dlamini.
