Edenvale Senior Citizens host popular winter market

Despite the chilly weather, the Edenvale Senior Citizens Society’s winter market on July 5 attracted bargain hunters and craft lovers from across the community. The next market is set for November.

The Edenvale Senior Citizens Society recently held a morning market, attracting community members from far and wide.

The market was held at the Edenvale Community Centre on July 5.

According to committee member Linda Ranwell, the weather wasn’t on the society’s side, as it was bitterly cold.

“Despite this, we had a good turnout of people looking for bargains,” she said.

Items on sale included glasses, kitchenware, bedding, pictures, books, toys, and racks of clothes for adults and children.

Numerous people also booked tables to sell items such as jewellery, candles, hand-knitted garments, and other handcrafted goods.

“These Saturday markets are only held three times a year by the Edenvale Senior Citizens Society and require a lot of planning,” said Linda.

She said the next market will be in November.

“We’d like to thank everyone who supported us and hope to see you at our next Saturday market in November,” said Linda.
