Edenvale seniors enjoy spooky fun at Halloween-themed lunch

Seniors in Edenvale got into the spooky spirit with Halloween costumes and a delicious meal at the community centre’s themed lunch.

Seventy-eight of Edenvale’s seniors got dressed up in their spookiest outfits when they attended a Halloween-themed lunch hosted by the Edenvale Senior Citizens Society.

The lunch was held at the Edenvale Community Centre on October 23.

According to committee member Linda Ranwell, the event was well attended, and guests enjoyed a delicious three-course meal.

Ann van der Westhuizen won the prize for best dressed.

She said members were invited to dress up in the Halloween theme, and it made it more fun.

The society offers a two-course meal every weekday at only R60 for members or R70 for non-members. Meals can be taken away if a container is brought.

Dessert had an eye on all guests who were willing to take a bite.

Several activities are offered, which include darts, table tennis, seniors’ gym, yoga, card games and a knitting group.

Spider eggs were part of the starter for the guests.
