Eastleigh Primary celebrates excellence at annual awards ceremony

The Grade Seven class of 2025 at Eastleigh Primary School is honoured with awards and words of wisdom for their journey ahead at their Prize Giving Ceremony.

The Eastleigh Primary School community gathered on November 24 to celebrate the excellence, dedication, and growth of Grade Seven learners.

The prize-giving ceremony was kicked off with welcoming remarks from the grade leaders, Kytana Gilbert, Alida Banda and Thando Mhlifili.

Principal Nonhlanhla Ngwenya said the young Grade Seven leaders had demonstrated excellence, dedication and strong character throughout the year.

“This is a proud moment, not only for the school, but for the families and teachers who have supported these learners on their journey. To our Grade Seven recipients, this is your moment.

“You have worked hard, stayed focused and shown commitment to your education. Your awards today are a reflection of discipline, effort and perseverance.”

Ngwenya advised the learners that, as they step into high school next year, they would face a world filled with opportunities and challenges.

To our parents and families, thank you for your dedication and the support you give your children.

“Your encouragement, sacrifices and guidance have made this day possible. Today we celebrate not only the achievements of these learners, but also the love and commitment of the families behind them,” said the principal.

She also thanked the educators and staff for their hard work, passion and professionalism.

She acknowledged that their influence reaches far beyond the classroom. She thanked them for shaping and inspiring their learners.

To the School Governing Body, their leadership, commitment and partnership were acknowledged and appreciated. Ngwenya added, “Your support ensures that teaching and learning take place at the highest standard.

“Thank you for walking this journey with us. Thank you to The News for highlighting the achievements of our learners and school to the wider community.”

Naidine Sibanda
