Adventurer to talk about great heights at MCS meeting
The 73-year-old retired construction project manager and environmentalist has walked many interesting and challenging trails, from the Alps to the Andes and parts of Europe too.
Gordon Forbes, a passionate adventurer, is set to tell an interesting and uplifting tale of how a walk to the Mount Everest base camp in the Himalayas was an inspiring experience, at the next Saturday meeting of the Modderfontein Conservation Society (MCS).
The 73-year-old retired construction project manager and environmentalist has walked many interesting and challenging trails, from the Alps to the Andes and parts of Europe too.

Gordon will talk about the preparation and obstacles of successfully completing this most challenging hike with the prospect of altitude sickness cramping his style at 5 364m.
He will also talk about the importance and generosity of the Nepalese people and their role in the well-being of the hikers.
He will share this inspiring event with members and friends of the MCS on April 25. The talk will take place in the Education Centre at the Modderfontein Reserve at 14:00.
Access from Ardeer Road and follow the signs to the lapa.
Visitors are welcome; however, there is a charge of R50 to help cover expenses.
Scholars receive free entrance.
