Jeppe Boys celebrates 100% matric pass rate for Class of 2025

With 261 distinctions and two learners securing nine distinctions each, Jeppe High School for Boys has once again celebrated a flawless matric pass rate.

Jeppe High School for Boys, matric Class of 2025, achieved a 100% pass rate in the National Senior Certificate exams.

The school achieved this feat for the second year in a row and the third time in four years.

In total, there were 261 distinctions, with two candidates, Tristan Babcock and Damon Elgar, achieving a full house of nine distinctions each.

Chidubem Obiedelu and Aidan de Koning got eight distinctions each, and Daniello Agrizzi and Ethan Lake scored seven distinctions each.

Three learners, Declan Boyder, Luke Gray, and Eli Pillay, got six distinctions each.

There were a further seven who each got five.

“I am absolutely delighted for the school, our boys, and our staff who have put so much effort into achieving these results,” said headmaster Brendan Gittins.

“The 100% pass rate is a particularly significant milestone. It speaks deeply to Jeppe’s culture of ensuring that every boy is supported and cared for throughout the journey, and that no one is left behind.

“We are also proud of the 86% bachelor’s pass rate, the number of distinctions achieved, and the outstanding performances from our top achievers, all of which reflect the hard work and commitment of both staff and pupils.”

Gittins has been in contact with former headmaster, Dale Jackson, who left the school at the end of last year, and he said he is delighted with these results and immensely proud of the school.

“I would like to extend a special word of thanks to Mr Jackson, whose unwavering priority was always the academic culture of the school,” he said.

Deputy principal in charge of academics, Collette Rattray, described the results as among the best in the school’s history.

“The 261 distinctions are a record,” she said, “but more importantly, we managed to get everyone through, including several who were at risk earlier in the year.

“That is credit to a lot of dedication and driving from the teachers, and to the knuckling down and application of the boys.
