EDITOR – There is an electrical cable stretching from above the new substation situated on First Avenue, just before Aitken Road, to an electrical pole situated on the other side of the road.
As secretary of Edenvale Ridge Residents’ Association I have been inundated with calls from concerned residents in this regard.
Residents are querying whether this cable is illegal and a danger to the residents?
They are further querying why a cable would be stretched across the road in such a dangerous manner when this new substation has just been built?

EDITOR’S COMMENT – The letter was sent to the spokesperson for the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) Mr Themba Gadebe for comment on March 6.
Comment was requested by March 13.
