Soccer skills exhibited at Edenvale Sports Club

Edenvale Sports Club was abuzz this past weekend with Eastern League fixtures.

The Edenvale Football Club (EFC) hosted several teams as part of its Eastern League games on May 13 and 14 at the Edenvale Sports Club.

U6A EFC won 4-2 against Benoni Northerns B.

Benoni Northerns A thrashed the home team by 9-0.

Edenvale’s U7 premier side won 2-1 against BCC while the U7 league one side won 2-0 against BCC.

The EFC league two team lost 2-1 against Legends.

U8 EFC league one lost 2-0 to Benoni Northerns A and EFC league two lost 3-1 to Benoni Northerns.

Diane Koen, EFC secretary and one of the managers for the U8 team, said the club is doing quite well.

“From the start of the season, we are winning most of the games. Every team is performing well,” said Koen.

The club’s U9 teams won both their matches against Rovers and Old Bens.

The U10 teams enjoyed victories against Benoni Northerns and Springs Old Boys.

“The biggest thing that we want as a club is to make sure that the boys have fun and hone their skills.

“We play every Saturday so spectators are welcome.

“We have a wonderful tuck shop,” she added.
