Local bowlers show skills at tournaments
Jacqui van Rensburg from Bedfordview Country Club and her teammate, Desmarie Rosenblatt won a bronze medal at the Hong Kong International Pairs.
The Johannesburg Bowling Association has congratulated Jacqui van Rensburg from Bedfordview Country Club and her teammate, Desmarie Rosenblatt from Eastern Province, for having competed in the Hong Kong International Pairs from November 11 to 19.
The pair won a bronze medal.
They also congratulated Gianni Gatti, also from Bedfordview Country Club, who will represent South Africa in the Atlantic Senior Fours tournament, which will be held in Cyprus from December 1 to 12.
“November 26 saw the closing of our Academy Brushware Trips. The men’s winning team from Morningside was headed by former Proteas player Gerry Baker, seconded by Michael Kandava and Johann van der Walt at the lead.

“The runner-up men were from Belgravia Bowling Club with James Galloway at skip, Andrew Barrow at second and Price Fourie showing his potential at lead.
“The winning ladies’ team from Belgravia Bowling Club had Eurika Binneman at skip, Cheryl Edelkrout at second and young Ciara Schipper at lead,” said the newly appointed district media liaison, Jacqui van Rensburg.
Runner-up from Bedfordview Country Club was skipped by Vanessa Ferreira, Adele Kriel at second and Fiona Duke at the lead.
“It was a well-supported day of excellent bowls,” she shared.
The Pam Landau Annual Classic will be held at Roosevelt Park Bowling Club from December 8 to 10 while the Bedfordview Country Clubs’ Bring a Buddy Day will take place on December 16.
