Men’s national bowling tournament hosted in Bedfordview

BSA Men’s Nationals headquarters Bedfordview Country Club Bowls welcomed players across the country as players descended on Gauteng to compete in Fours, Pairs and Singles.

Various local bowling clubs hosted the Bowls South Africa (BSA) National Men’s Tournament from May 4 to 8.

Des Londel, president of BCC said they were delighted to welcome the players and supporters at Bedfordview Country Club for the National Men’s Tournament.

“We are thrilled to host such a talented and diverse group of participants.

“Our club has been preparing for this tournament for quite some time, and we have spared no effort to ensure that all visitors have an exceptional experience.”

Londel said they were excited to have been selected as the headquarters for the tournament.

“We offer state-of-the-art facilities and well-manicured playing greens, along with welcoming and friendly staff dedicated to making sure you feel at home.

Bowlers took to the lawn for an exciting competition on May 4 at Belgravia Bowling Club.

“We are proud to announce we will be celebrating our 125th anniversary next year; from our humble beginnings at the Kensington Poly Club in 1900.

“We will be celebrating this milestone in our new clubhouse, and we assure it will be a grand celebration,” he said.

The club also runs development programmes, social bowls days and corporate fun days, a sports bar, food facilities and venue hire.

Belgravia Bowling Club served as the tournament’s sub-headquarters.

Its president, Debra Ferguson said, “To be selected means our greens are amongst the best.

“We are thankful to Bowls South Africa for choosing us to be sub-headquarters,” stated Ferguson.
