Lott shines at prize giving
Rhodes Park Bowling Club’s president, Jason Lott, led by example during the club’s end of season and club competition and prize giving on Sunday last week.
Lott scooped three championships on the day. Together with Andre’ Harmse, they won the men’s pairs category.
He won the nominated mixed pairs together with Monique Lott. Jason also won the drawn mixed pairs with Penny Perreira.
The men’s singles was taken by Andre’ Harmse and the runner up was Clinton Watterson. Fiona Duke won the ladies pairs and the runner up was Lesley McKenzie.
The men’s pairs runner up team was Alan Tobias and Kendall Franks. Ray Du Plessis and Carol Symons were the runners up in the drawn mixed pairs. The nominated mixed pairs runners up were Carol Symons and Gavin Symons.
The ladies pairs category was taken by Ilse Godwin and Carol Symons. Runners up were Myrtle Perreira and Doreen Kotze.
Fiona Duke also won the novice singles, with Gary Symons as the runner up.
Merit awards were given to Jimmy Young, for the most committed marker, Thomas Rivombo was awarded a green keeper A graded greens prize, Tracy Menney received the award for greens maintenance, Dirk Malomgre received the award for umpire technical proficiency, Clive Chiromudzimu received the most improved bowls and Glen McCall was awarded the Hansa Champion award.
