Are you fitter than an MMA Fighter?

October 13 will see some of Africa's Fittest athletes coming together to compete for gold at this year’s EL Grande Ultimate Fitness Challenge.

The challenge is hosted by Fighting Fit and Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC) Africa in association with Smacktalk MMA, World of Warriors, Fightstar and Lindsay Saker Edenvale.

The event will take place at the Olympia Football Club at the Italian Club in Bedfordview.

The EL Grande fitness challenge is a high-intensity fitness course where athletes are put through their paces in a race against the clock.

The competitor with the fastest time will be declared the Ultimate Fitness Champ.

There will be a women’s and men’s open category. Contestants must also be 18 or older.

The challenge goes out to all Cross Fit athletes and clubs, soccer and rugby players, Mixed Martial Arts athletes and gyms, boxers and all fitness enthusiasts.

Registration is from 9am to 9.45am and the competition starts at 10am.

Entry is R50 and there are prizes for the first three places in both categories.

Newly crowned EFC Africa Welterweight Champion, Dino “The Lion” Bagattin, will be there to meet and greet his fans.

Fighting Fit Africa is a youth and community upliftment project that promotes a healthier lifestyle through participation in sports and fitness activities. The Italian Club is located at 7 Marais Road.
