One Hit Wonders scored 121 runs for the loss of two wickets in 13.1 overs, ensuring a six wicket victory over Firsty Thuckers
The Last Man Stands (LMS) Division One side One Hit Wonders took on Firsty Thuckers at Jeppe Quondom on Saturday, July 12.
One Hit Wonders defeated Firsty Thuckers by six wickets in the match umpired by Andre Kriel.
Firsty Thuckers won the toss and elected to bat first, but were on the back foot from the start when their opening batsmen, Leon De Wit and Jacques Jordaan, were dismissed without making a single run.
The match picked up for Firsty Thuckers when batsman Chris Rugg took to the field. Rugg reached the half century mark after he made 53 runs from 41 balls.
Shaun Wakeford was Firsty Thuckers’ second standout player, after he scored 50 from 46 balls. Overall, Firsty Thuckers ended their innings on 116 runs for six after 20 overs.
With 116 runs to chase, One Hit Wonders started well, with batsmen Mark Hudson and Pierre Le Grange. Hudson made 22 runs from eight balls and Grange, One Hit Wonders’ standout player, reached the half century mark with 50 runs from 25 balls.
