18-year-old Gino, as he is known, is registered with several shooting and hunting clubs as a dedicated hunter and sports shooter.
He obtained his dedicated hunter status at the age of 16 and his dedicated sports shooter status earlier this year.
He started with clay pigeon shooting before moving towards hunting game birds and large game.
Gino achieved his Gauteng colours in 2013 for air pistol shooting.
Last week, he represented South Africa in the British Junior International Shooting Championships held at Camp Bisley in Surrey, England.
Gino has been shooting since he was eight and has been competing in combat shooting competitions with centre-fire handguns but only started competing in air pistol shooting in early 2013.
