Success for local bowlers
In the International Quadrangular test series, the team enjoyed the same success.
Having achieved great success this year, the highlight being wining gold at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, bowlers from the Bedfordview Bowling Club are aiming even higher.
Bowlers who performed well at the Commonwealth include Ms Tracy-Lee Botha, who won two gold medals in the pairs and one in the fours, and Ms Colleen Piketh, who won two medals; gold in the pairs with Ms Botha, and a bronze in the singles.
In the International Quadrangular test series, the team enjoyed the same success.
Ms Piketh and Ms Botha both won gold in the opens and Ms Sharon Glenn achieved gold in the seniors. Ms Roxanne Tingle and Ms Jacqueline van Rensburg participated in the junior SA team, and took home a silver medal.
Ms Piketh was also selected to represent South Africa at the World Indoor Championships in Australia in 2015.
The group said they are working hard to ensure even greater success in the new year.
They have their eyes set on numerous competitions in 2015, including the SA Masters Championships.
