James and Chris win Sarens 42km race
Runners and walkers use the marathon as a qualifier for the Two Oceans as well as the Comrades marathons.
The annual Sarens Edenvale Marathon hit the streets on Sunday morning, March 13.
The event supports a number of local charities and was attended by over 3 000 runners and walkers.

The Sarens Group is recognised as a worldwide leader in heavy lifting and engineered transport.
The proceeds of the 10km run will be donated to the Kidneybeanz Trust, while proceeds for the 5km fun run will be donated to Tiles 4 Change.
The Kidneybeanz Trust is a non-profit organisation, supporting children with life-threatening kidney disease, and their families.
These children and their families are bolstered financially, emotionally and psycho-socially by Kidneybeanz during such devastating times.
Tiles 4 Change is a community-based anti-drug and abuse campaign concentrating in the Edenvale area.
Sarens and Rand Road Warriors will also donate proceeds from the event to Tannah’s Gift of Smiles.
Felex Cheruiyot Rop won the men’s section of the 10km race in a time of 32;13, while Liziwe Mabona won the women’s 10km race in a time of 38;02.
Jeffrey Gwebu was the winner of the men’s 21km race in a time of 1:07;53 and Keneilwe Sesing won the women’s 21km race in a time of 1:21;36.
James Thapelo Leseyane was the winner of the men’s 42km race with a time of 2:32;55, while Chris Walter was the first women to cross the finish line in the 42km race in a time of 3:30;06.
