AmaWheelaBoys don’t hold back during the All-Star series
AmaWheelaBoys did not give the SuperSport All-Star team a chance.
Sasol, in conjunction with Wheelchair Basketball South Africa (WBSA), launched the #Limitless initiative.
#Limitless aims to garner more support for the sport of wheelchair basketball and inspire people through the players who are part of the national team.

The initiative will showcase the stories of those involved in wheelchair basketball and use them to illustrate the #Limitless and unexpected potential.
The Sasol AmaWheelaBoys played against the SuperSport Wheelchair Basketball All-Star team in the SuperSport All-Star series. The match took place at the Mandeville Indoor Sports Centre on July 21.
AmaWheelaBoys did not give the All-Star team a chance. They started with an early lead of six points pressing hard throughout the match.
AmaWheelaBoys made the most of their opportunities while the All-Star team wasted their opportunities.
AmaWheelaBoys claimed the victory by beating the All-Star team 60-37.
The match allowed the teams to show their #Limitless abilities.
The #Limitless initiative will shine a spotlight on the drive, passion, skill and determination of the powerful and passionate individuals involved in wheelchair basketball – both players and individuals selflessly giving of themselves to benefit the sport.
These individuals will be used as an exemplification of how involvement in sport can teach confidence, dedication, determination, and teamwork and inspire all South Africans.
Sasol AmaWheelaBoys head coach Lydia Dumond, the first female head coach of a men’s national team, said, “Our team has the most inspirational people I know. We now have the opportunity to inspire the South African public through their stories.
“I am immensely excited to be able to tell our stories through #Limitless. I commend our partner Sasol on this wonderful initiative.”
She said she was happy with the team’s win but there is room for improvement.
“The boys did well winning this game. But they are still making unnecessary mistakes and silly passes and we need to work on that,” said the coach.
